| Laser and Waterjet Cutting For two dimensional CNC projects, laser cutters and waterjet cutters may be the best choice. Laser cutters use a high power laser beam to cut material. They are best used on wood, plastics, and some metals. Waterjet cutters shoot a combination of water and an abrasive like sand to essentially erode the material. This is the best choice for thicker materials and metals. The main advantage is that unlike a laser, it doesn't heat up and potentially cause chemical changes to the material. | |
